Miniature Pinscher needs a special home in Herndon, Virginia

Hello, my name is Drake...Most people ask if i'm purebred...yes, I am just ask my vet! I'm very unique in color (fawn and tan with a little white patch on my chest)...and my eyes are yellow and grey...Ya really can't tell by this picture..they didn't get my good side:) I'm a little overweight...my brother was about 16lbs but I'm more like 20lbs, but let's keep that between you and me! I suppose you could blame it on the fact that I spend most of my day burrowed under my favorite blanket or maybe I eat a little too much. I'm a helpless romantic...I love to cuddle and could lay in your lap all day long...I also love eye contact when I'm getting a good rub. I have super sensitive hearing abilities - whenever my dad tries to silently slip the house key into the front door lock, I immediately start barking because I know he likes to sneak up on mom! When I was one year old, my parents took me to the Bush Veterinary Neurology Center because they noticed I sometimes liked to snap at thin air as if something was swarming around my head. It turns out that I have a mild case of epilepsy (also known as 'fly biting disorder'). What that means is that I sometimes see little flashes of light (like flies) which I then try to snap at with my mouth. It's really harmless but I suppose I look a little silly when I'm doing it. That's one of the reasons why I like to burrow under a blanket because the darkness brings me peace. Now that I got that out the way.he most important thing to remember is that I am a loving, friendly dog. I love long walks almost as much as I like a warm and inviting lap. I need a special home...because Im a special dog...A warm loving quiet home. A place where there is not too many distractions. I do get along with most cats and dogs..but it would be best for me if i am the only one...so I can get all the love and attention I need. I know there is a home out there for me.
